Fort Box

April 23, 2010

We introduced Fort Box for the Green Street Fair that will be held on the first weekend in May to the students and they jumped at the possibilities.  First what is Fort Box you ask?  Last year was the first event that was held in Kellogg Park, Plymouth, MI.  There were vendors and activities to take advantage of the spring weather and thinking GREEN.  Fort Box is set up on the grass for children of all ages to explore and create in.  Using recycled boxes and various other materials, our students were asked to create buildings for the event. And create they did!

They came up with a pet hotel called The Sleepy Patch Hotel for pets, the Passport Travel Agency complete with flags from around the world and the Haunted Treat store with not too scary treats! The Observer and Eccentric Newspaper came out to the school today to interview the students and take pictures.  What a great community effort that gives the students an opportunity to work as teams and take active roles in creating something fun for others!
