Harry Potter – Trading Cards

November 26, 2010
Trading Card for Harry Potter.

Four trading cards that my students made to go with the story!

Harry Potter Trading Cards

My reading group is enjoying reading “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and to capitalize on their interest we are making trading cards for the characters.  The group discussed what is usually on a trading card and how they should do them.  It was interesting to watch them decide to do their own cards rather than have one set for school.  I think it shows their interest in the series and a growing fondness for the characters.

On one side they will draw a picture of one character (from that chapter) and on the other side they will detail information about the character.  They decided on:

  • the name
  • height/ weight (they must make an educated guess, since we don’t really know)
  • “accessories” – it could be Dudley’s stick for school, Ron’s rat…
  • special features about the character
Harry Potter character.

Trading card for chapter 15 character Ronan.
