Learning About the United States

We found a fun way to share all of the research the students had  done learning about the United States.  Instead of doing reports or a worksheet on each state, each student researched two states and then placed all of their information on a poster board they painted to look like a suitcase with post cards of places that you could see in each state.

Then it was time to invite our Kindergarten friends and family to share in all the fun.  The students each brought in food that is made in their states and dressed like a tourist! Some wore camera’s,  crazy hats and Hawaiian shirts.  We had Mississippi Mud Pie, Florida Lemonade and Philadelphia Cheese Steak Sandwiches and everything in between.  A fun day was had by all!
