April is poetry month so everyone selected poems to read to the class. There were some classics and then there were some that will became new classics! We had lots of gross ones that made the students laugh. It was a great way to introduce a variety of poetry to the class.
Then for an art project we had the students list the main ideas or words in the poem and looked through magazines to find a picture that would capture the ideas or words. They put all of them together on a circle about the size of a dinner plate and added whatever details they wanted. They turned out great!
This would be a fun idea for a rainy day summer project. They theme could be summer fun and your child could find pictures in magazines to be recycled that they think represent summer fun! The ideas are endless.
