Gingerbread House

I assembled the gingerbread house that I got from IKEA (that is a story in itself – lessons learned) and used it for the table centerpiece for the holidays but once they were over, what to do with it?  There was way too much sugar for me to suggest eating it, besides, it had sat out for weeks and with our two cats, let’s just say, they probably have checked it out.

So I decided to cover it with peanut butter and bird seeds and see if our furry friends outside would like it.  The next morning the front yard was squirrel central.  I have never seen so many squirrels at one time.  Obviously the customized gingerbread house was a huge hit!

Viola! Gingerbread house covered in peanut butter and bird seed (you can still see some of the marshallows poking through).
