Who doesn’t like ice cream?

Making Ice Cream

Eating ice cream is grand, but making it with your own hands if so much fun too!  You don’t need much to make ice cream at home.

Materials:

  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 6 Tablespoons of rock salt
  • 3 -4 cups of ice
  • 1 pint Zip-loc bag
  • 1 gall Zip-loc bag
  • a pair of gloves

Steps:

  • Put the rock salt and ice into the big Zip-loc bag.
  • Then carefully pour the milk, sugar and vanilla into the small bag and zip it closed.
  • Place the small bag into the large bag and zip it closed too!
  • Now shake the bag for about 5 minutes (see why you need gloves) then you can either pour out the ice cream or eat it out of the bag. Enjoy!

Sorry I don’t have any pictures of the kids eating their creations!  They were having so much fun shaking the bags then eating it, I just got caught up in it!
