Book on making beginning writing engaging for children.

Beginning writing

I had the opportunity to attend a workshop put on by Lori Jamison Rog. She was a wonderful presenter and really provided many ideas that I could apply the next day! My students have loved the clear ideas and characters she developed.  Their writing has definitely bloomed!  They have gone from writing short, disjointed stories to well-developed, clever stories with details and order.

They also love sharing their stories with the rest of the class and hearing their, “Stars and Wishes!” The stars are what parts of the story they enjoyed and the wishes are suggestions to make the stories better. We talked about ways to make suggestions to make a story better: I loved the way you described… or I could picture it in my mind just like you told it. My students love sharing their opinions for their friends stories.

I would recommend this book for anyone looking for ways that will help develop their students writing!
